Well. tonight went well. There were all of - *thinks* - two encounters, but there was a lot of fun had by all.
The last session (the as yet unposted Session 1) ended immediately following a goblin attack. Thomas.. wait a minute.. You don't know the players? Here:
Stephen (
lordreaibn) - Thomas Daenar - CN Male Human Fighter/
Cleric of Garagos
Aron (my brother) - Lorcan - N Male Elven Wizard (Necromancer)
Scott (friend) - Steiner - CN Male Human Fighter
Rick (old friend) - Zann Questkeeper - CN Female Planar Elven Rogue
Thomas was criticall injured, and close to death. Following the attack, a rain storm swept in, and the party had to take shelter in a cave nearby. They found (because Stephen had no yet become a cleric, and because he was unconscious) a small cache of magic healing potions. After everyone dosed themselves up to a good amount of health, a wandering orc gang found them. Just as they were dispatching the orcs, the owlbear who owned the cave got back, and proceeded to try to mow its way through the party. Surprisingly, or not, Thomas mowed right back! When it counted, he managed to roll a critical hit on the owlbear. (Now that the game's over for the week, I can say that Thomas was personally responsible for 80% of the damage to the owlbear.
After the enounter, they made it to the hamlet of Loch-Durnan. Its gold mines are beset by goblins, and the townsfolk are hiring the adventurers to clear out the mine.
They were received well, ate well, slept well, and sent off with a hero's sendoff. (There was grumbling about how many times this had happened, and how many adventurers were already in the pit, but I pointed out that if there were more than them, then would the town turn out to wish them well? They didn't think so, either.
No sooner were they down in the pit, than they were attacked by.... yeah, goblins. It didn't take them long to get through them. We probably would have kept going, but alas, it's Sunday, and I have work Monday morning at 5am. Everyone leveled during the session, which is as I wanted. Now, things are going to get funky. :) *evil cackle*

Oh, and Rick was not there this week. It seems that his wife/girlfriend (I can't get a straight answer to this question - don't ask) was busy having their first child. I wish they all the best, and congratulations!
