Thoughts and reflections,,,

*shrug* I wanted a catchy title. I got it. Now, about where I've been:

This week has been busy for me. I've bought most of the materials to put up my shelves around my ceiling. I bought a white five-blade ceiling fan, complete with light kit. I even installed it. Given that I know nothing about electrical work, this is rather impressive. Of course, my dad supervised, so that helped. Today, the air conditioner I ordered for my room came in, so I spent this afternoon installing that. It's in my window now, and looks lovely, although it's now too cold outside to test the cooling feature. *snicker* That's how life works, though. At least I have everything ready for that first 80 degree day. (I HATE sweating. Period. I hate extreme cold, but nothing like I hate heat.*

Work has been pretty crappy all week. I was told, once again, that someone has to be picked to be my backup on Sunday, so that I can have a Sunday off from time to time, so that I can go on vacation, and (get this) so that they can schedule me to do other things!? Am I paranoid, or does it sound like I would probably never see a Sunday morning ever again:? I mentioned this to Joyce. I even said that I was probably just being silly because it would be changing up my routine. Her response? "Lindley's been shaking up everyone who has a set schedule." I commented on that regarding the fact that no one else can do what I'm doing right now (open the accounting office). She then told me that I had it pretty "cushy" as far as schedules. Cushy?! What?! It may not be ass-poundingly busy like it gets at night, but my shifts are rarely cushy. I am going from one thing right on to the next. I take my lunch around 10am, but that's in part because I don't have time to slow down until then. Fine. Whatever. Be that way.

I was talking to Kevin tonight, and I learned something shocking: I've been asked to be his Best Man. I'm going to be the one who throws the bachelor party. I get to give a bloody speech at the reception. I get to do who knows what else. Neat. As they say: Power Corrupts. Absolute Power is kinda neat. :) Oh, and I get to wear a tux again. I suppose I'll also want a costume for later. (Assuming I don't feel like I'm violating the holiday by parading around in one.)

Finally, for those not on [livejournal.com profile] oceanborn. the Nightwish LJ community: Nightwish is coming to America (specifically, Atlanta, GA) this September!!! YES!!!! Now, I have one problem. I have no one to go with me, and on a trip like that, I'd like some company, since I'm a coward to drive that far on my own. Secret Sphere, Symphony X, and Circle II Circle are playing, too. This will be so cool.

Anyone want to carpool? *smile*

That more or less catches everyone up on my life so far this week. I'm sure that if I had typed it up while it happened, I'd have had more to say, but I was beat. So, live with it. :)

Yay, you get to hire a stripper!

You know, I have no qualms about porn. However, something about going somewhere it's live, or dealing with it in a live sort of setting, bothers me. Heck, in last night's game, one of the players wanted to get a job as a bouncer at a brothel. We started doing that, and by the end of the night, I felt like I had done something wrong. My last friend to get married didn't even really have a bachelor party. It was co-ed, and they went barhopping.

Like I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm going to check with my friend who was Best Man in that wedding. He'll be able to tell me something.

Yeah you're right. Girls are icky.

Seriously, I completely understand. Several times my friends have tried to get me to go to a strip club with them, and I wanted no part of it.

I dunno why I'm like that, either. *shrug* Maybe I have more morals. *snicker* Nah, that's not it.
