Thoughts and reflections,,,

*shrug* I wanted a catchy title. I got it. Now, about where I've been:

This week has been busy for me. I've bought most of the materials to put up my shelves around my ceiling. I bought a white five-blade ceiling fan, complete with light kit. I even installed it. Given that I know nothing about electrical work, this is rather impressive. Of course, my dad supervised, so that helped. Today, the air conditioner I ordered for my room came in, so I spent this afternoon installing that. It's in my window now, and looks lovely, although it's now too cold outside to test the cooling feature. *snicker* That's how life works, though. At least I have everything ready for that first 80 degree day. (I HATE sweating. Period. I hate extreme cold, but nothing like I hate heat.*

Work has been pretty crappy all week. I was told, once again, that someone has to be picked to be my backup on Sunday, so that I can have a Sunday off from time to time, so that I can go on vacation, and (get this) so that they can schedule me to do other things!? Am I paranoid, or does it sound like I would probably never see a Sunday morning ever again:? I mentioned this to Joyce. I even said that I was probably just being silly because it would be changing up my routine. Her response? "Lindley's been shaking up everyone who has a set schedule." I commented on that regarding the fact that no one else can do what I'm doing right now (open the accounting office). She then told me that I had it pretty "cushy" as far as schedules. Cushy?! What?! It may not be ass-poundingly busy like it gets at night, but my shifts are rarely cushy. I am going from one thing right on to the next. I take my lunch around 10am, but that's in part because I don't have time to slow down until then. Fine. Whatever. Be that way.

I was talking to Kevin tonight, and I learned something shocking: I've been asked to be his Best Man. I'm going to be the one who throws the bachelor party. I get to give a bloody speech at the reception. I get to do who knows what else. Neat. As they say: Power Corrupts. Absolute Power is kinda neat. :) Oh, and I get to wear a tux again. I suppose I'll also want a costume for later. (Assuming I don't feel like I'm violating the holiday by parading around in one.)

Finally, for those not on [livejournal.com profile] oceanborn. the Nightwish LJ community: Nightwish is coming to America (specifically, Atlanta, GA) this September!!! YES!!!! Now, I have one problem. I have no one to go with me, and on a trip like that, I'd like some company, since I'm a coward to drive that far on my own. Secret Sphere, Symphony X, and Circle II Circle are playing, too. This will be so cool.

Anyone want to carpool? *smile*

That more or less catches everyone up on my life so far this week. I'm sure that if I had typed it up while it happened, I'd have had more to say, but I was beat. So, live with it. :)

Thanks, 'Hawk. My weekend made things go a little better than before for me. I think that this week will go nicely. I'm already planning on being on time all this week. I'm NOT going to buy a paper, either. (Perhaps I'll subscribe to it, so I can read it when I get home. It'll be cheaper that way, too.)

THanks about the best man thing, although I'm not sure where to begin. I better ask my bud who's been one before.

good plan.
if nothing else, even if you don't read them, they often come in handy for cleaning fish ^_~

Good point. Except I detest seafood. X.X;; No matter though. It's cheaper, which is the primary reason I would get a subscription.

Although we cheap people prefer the term "frugal" ^_~

I don't know about that, 'hawk. :) Cheap is only one syllable, and takes less time to say than frugal. It's got a certain charm in its simplicity. :)
