0054: Goodbye, WoW.
I think it's high time I ended my association with this game. While I love it, I don't play often enough to keep levelled with my friends who play (both RL and online). I am uncomfortable asking for help from strangers (even if they are my guild). I have never been in any Alliance instances, and I've only been in one Horde instance run to its conclusion, so I never get the neat gear. I can't afford stuff, because I have to improve my gear in the AH, on top of buying spells and abiliities. All in all, I am freaking frustrated by my lack of progress. (Even when I played all the time, I couldn't keep up with costs, nor did I ever get to go on instance runs, with the occasional exception.)
I'm not going to delete the characters I have right now, but I'm not making another one. In fact, I might delete down to one per server, just so I don't have to split any more time between characters. At the end of my current month (2 Oct 2005), I will cancel my subscription, and that will be that. I may buy a new month later on down the road, but for now, I'm tired of sinking money into a game that leaves me feeling so unhappy. (Even though I *LOVE* to play, I like to group with my friends when they're online, and they can help me get over the 'boring" parts, when I have no quests I can do, but I need to grind, but I can't grind where it'll help me the most.)
Well, this will let me concentrate on my Saturday D&D game, and rebuild my mp3 collection. Not to mention, I'll have time to begin reading The Purpose-Driven Life from the beginning again. (I quit reading it around day 20 or so, and never picked it back up. Shame on me.)
EDIT: Is it me, or is it a true sign of evil when, after making this post, WoW's Account Management Console is giving "Too Many Connection" errors, and won't let me in to cancel? :)
