No, no replies to comments from Anthony today. I woke up at 730, and hurried over to Kevin's. We dropped my car off to have its windshield replaced, and began work on his car. We were set to replace the timing chain. This required removing the wheel, several pullies, the valve cover, and exposing the timing chain itself. We had to make a copious amount of "tool runs", and even then, we were still running all over creation.
My car was done by 130pm, around four hours after I dropped it off. The staff at Jack Morris Auto Glass on Winchester are excellent. I cannot recommend them enough. They truly rule. Friendly, and they offer competitive prices. My windshield cost me $300 - after labor. Now, I have enough to do some other work on it, too. Sweet.
Sadly, after putting Kevin's car back together, he and I realized something very terrible: His problem wasn't the timing chain (though the lower sprocket did need to be replaced). It's not getting any compression in the valves, which means that some valves are bent, most likely.
The result? Kevin's carless, and his blue Saturn is probably going bye-bye.
At any rate, I'm exhausted. I didn't leave Kevin's place until I had been there for 12 hours, and I'm about to fall asleep sitting here. I'll answer comments tomorrow afternoon, after I get back from gettnig my oil changed. I also need to get some windshield wiper blades.
